Nandu’s India has opened a new poultry breeding facility just outside Bangalore. “This state-of-the-art facility, completely powered by solar energy, houses 30,000 birds and produces 600,000 hatching eggs monthly,” said CEO Narendra Pasuparthy. Designed to be environment-friendly, the facility has automated manure collection. The manure is composted to produce high-grade organic fertilizer. “This is how we produce poultry, with total commitment to ‘sustainability’ and ‘traceability— a commitment that started over 10 years ago,” he said.
